Discounts are everywhere โ in a shop window, in a checkout cart, in a marketing email. This free online discount calculator turns those confusing labels into plain numbers. Give it any two of the three values (original price, discount, final price) and it instantly returns the third, together with how much money you actually keep in your pocket.
1. Sale season decisions: during Black Friday, Cyber Monday or end-of-season sales, shops mix percentages, coupons and bundle prices. Enter the original and the final price to reveal the real percent off, and spot a fake "was" price.
2. Retail pricing: if you run a store, find out which discount level still protects your margin while producing an attractive price tag.
3. Budget control: check the final price of a cart item before you decide whether it still fits this month's budget.
4. Clearance and resale: quote a fixed amount off a used item and get the resulting price immediately.
The tool supports three core modes:
This tool prices a single discount. Real checkouts may stack a store coupon on top of a platform coupon, add sales tax, or add shipping. Merge all fixed reductions into one amount before you calculate, or run the tool twice step by step. Also note that "buy one get one free" is advertised as 50% off, but its per-unit price behaves slightly differently from a straight discount.
Q: Should I enter the percent off or the share I pay?
A: Enter the percent off โ the share taken away. For a deal advertised as "pay 70% of the price", that equals 30% off, so enter 30. The share you pay (70%) is shown in the comparison table for reference.
Q: Why does my receipt differ by a few cents?
A: Rounding. Different checkout systems round up, round down, or round half up at different steps, which can shift the last cent.
Q: Can I use a currency other than dollars?
A: Yes. The currency symbol is purely cosmetic here โ the math is the same for euros, pounds, yen or any other currency.
