Voice Countdown is a free, no-install online countdown timer that speaks. Type a start number (the default is 10), press “Start”, and the page reads the number aloud, then counts down one number per second until it reaches 0. Meanwhile the current number is shown in a very large typeface in the middle of the screen, so you can follow the countdown visually or just by listening — perfect when you cannot look at the screen.
Typical use cases:
🏋️ Workouts and intervals: planks, squats, burpees or wall sits often need 30 or 60 seconds
of holding. A spoken countdown keeps both hands free and your pace steady.
🏃 Race and game starts: for running, quizzes, lucky draws or any “on your marks” moment, a
spoken countdown is clearer and fairer than shouting.
🧘 Meditation and breathing: let the voice guide the length of each inhale and exhale during
mindfulness or deep-breathing practice.
🍳 Kitchen and chores: instant noodles, boiled eggs, rice or a face mask — with wet hands you
may not want to touch the phone, so let the voice do the timing.
👨🏫 Classroom activities: give students a fixed amount of time for discussion, thinking or
handing in homework, and end it with a clear voice cue.
🎤 Hosting and events: add tension and fun to meetups, live streams and team-building games.
How to use it: enter the number of seconds in “Start number” (any integer from 0 to 999), or use the 10 / 30 / 60 / 100 quick buttons. Press “▶ Start” to begin; press “⏹ Stop” at any time to interrupt and reset. Speech output relies on the browser's built-in speech synthesis, so Chrome, Edge and Safari are recommended. Please make sure the device volume is turned up before the first play. If the browser does not support speech synthesis, the numbers are still displayed — you just won't hear them.
Fullscreen mode: click “⛶ Fullscreen” to hide the input, quick buttons, descriptions and ads, leaving only the giant countdown number and the start/stop buttons. It is ideal for gym screens, classroom projectors and live streams. Click “⛶ Exit fullscreen” or press Esc to return.
Privacy: nothing is collected or uploaded. The countdown logic and the speech playback run entirely in your browser, and the number you type is never stored — it disappears when you reload or close the page.
